Canton, OH - To make it to this stage in the baseball season, it takes many things. Topping that list is good pitching and fundamentally sound fielding. The Kenston Bombers and West Branch Warriors both fit the bill, and fans on both sides were treated to a wonderful Regional Championship Friday evening at Thurman Munson Stadium.
The Bombers got on the board fast, with Wes Toth slapping a grounder up the middle that resulted in a fielders choice that was enough to bring Grant Beclay in.
Bridger Bischof took the bump for Coach Joe Hritz's squad and set the Warriors down in order through the first 3 frames.
In the 4th, the Warriors finally were able to get a runner on, loading the bases before Anthony Perry grounded into a fielders choice allowing Aaron Tucker to make it home to knot the game at 1.
The score remain deadlocked into the bottom of the 7th when Anthony Perry led off the inning wearing a Bischoff offering off the ankle. Following a stolen base, the Bombers opted to walk Charlie Biskup to get to Jaxon Robb. Robb answered with a first pitch drive over the left fielders head to bring Perry in to score and send the Warriors (20-6) to Akron for the Final 4 where they will square off with Indian Hill on June 7 at 1:00 PM at Canal Park.
