Richmond's star studded trio combines for 77 points to push pash Revere 95-62

Richmond Heights, Ohio-  The Richmond Spartans (8-7) looked to extend their win streak to four games. Richmond came into the matchup averaging 68 points in their last three wins. The Revere Minutemen (10-6) also came into the matchup hot, winning four of their last five games. 


The trio of Demaris Winters, Dorian Jones and TJ Crumble combined for 77 points and proved to be too much for the Minutemen. 


When asked about how the trio played off each other tonight, Winters had this to say.


“Coach Q just preached it could be anybody any night and tonight we just all cooked. So you know we shared the ball,  played how we play and we all got into it.”

The Spartans came out and set the tone defensively early. They forced over five turnovers in the quarter. Their turnovers allowed them opportunities to run and get transition buckets. 


Richmond turned it up at the halfway mark starting a 19-5 run to close out the quarter. Tj Crumble got a pair of alley oop finishes coming from both Dorian Jones and Demaris Winters. Winters ended the quarter with a pair of threes including an and one during the run. After one quarter they led 27-13.


In the second Revere started to find a rhythm of their own. Uriah Rodeman was huge, he scored eight straight points. His buckets helped cut the lead to 34-25 with three minutes to go in the half. Richmond went into halftime up 40-29 thanks to a dunk from Jones to beat the buzzer.



Revere came out in the third and fought back hard. They started to find lanes to the basket for buckets. Conner Groce scored a few and so did Carson Banks.  Mason Aquino and Christian Rached got baskets as well. The minutemen cut the lead to 52-50 with one minute left. They ended the quarter trailing 59-54. 


The fourth quarter was all Richmond, they came out and completely put the game away. Jones scored a quick five points prompting a timeout one minute in. 


At around the five minute mark Richmond took the game over with a 29-4 run to close the game. The Spartans were flying around on both sides of the ball. Winters knocked down two threes, Jones got a dunk and a three and Crumble got a couple of dunks as well. The Spartans finished the game winning 95-62.


With the win Richmond extends their win streak to four in a row. They will be back in action February 6th at home versus Buchtel at 7:15 PM.


Demaris Winters led all scorers with 31 points and six threes. Dorian Jones finished with 24 points and  three assists and a block. and Tj Crumble ended with 22 points, 14 rebounds and a block. 


Connor Groce finished with 10 points and three rebounds. Mason Aquino finished with 10 points and two assists. Carson Banks ended with 10 points and six assists.
