Middlefield Ohio-The Crestwood Red Devils (8-7) visited the Cardinal Huskies (2-9) in a CVC matchup.
Alyssa Hallis stepped in to lead it off for Crestwood, as Maggie Grant toed the rubber for the Huskies. She quickly jumped on Grant by lacing a single to left. Aimee Barnauskus popped out to Leichtman, and with one out Isabella Hunter singled to right. Scoring all the way from 1st was Hallis on a throwing error. Olivia Gullatta drew a walk, as Kayleigh Helm came to bat. Throughout the at-bat a pair of passed of balls allowed both runners to advance. Another passed ball plates Hunter to make it 2-0. Helm popped out to 3rd and with two outs Mia Gullatta popped out to Grant, ending the frame. A quiet first for the Huskies, Kelsi Collins, Maggie Grant and Rylie Leichtman went down 1-2-3.
Maddy Dustman, Hailey Desatnik and Ella Wright all struck as Grant had a very productive top of the 2nd inning.
Morgan Soltis drew a walk, and would make it to 3rd on a bunt by Kayleigh Duncan and a ground out from Alaina Rupinski. Casey Koeth went down swinging to end the inning.
Hallis lead off with her 2nd single of the game. Barnauskus was walked, setting up Hunter for an RBI single. Olivia Gullatta´s pop fly was dropped, but she was thrown out on her way to 1st. Helm got hit by a Grant pitch to load the bases. Mia Gullatta grounded out scoring Barnauskas. Dustman flied out to Briana Lew in center to end the top of of the 2nd. After Lew made the inning ending catch, she grounded out, followed up by Hanna Hansen´s grounder to the pitcher. With two done Collins drew a walk, but no damage was done as Grant grounded out to Barnauskas .
Desatnik liner was caught by Grant to start the 3rd. Ella Wright stuck out. Hallis came back with a bunt single, but Barnauskus struck out swinging. Leichtman was set to leadoff for the Huskies. She only mustered a lineout to short. Duncan drew a walk, later stealing 2nd and scoring as Rupinski made it to 2nd on a two-base error. Koeth became another strikeout victim for Mia Gullatta.
Hunter smoked a double to left, becoming the first in a string of five consecutive doubles for the Red Devils to begin the 4th. Olivia Gullatta, Helm, Mia Gullatta and Dustman all doubled as the onslaught continued. Following all of that the score was now 8-1 Crestwood. Desatnik grounded out to Grant. The Red Devils would continue to pour it on as the inning went on, Wright reached 1st with a walk. Hallis tripled bringing Dustman and Wright home. Barnauskas´s fly ball to left was dropped, bringing Hallis across the plate. Hunter collected another hit with a triple. Olivia Gullatta popped to short. A Collins fielding error put Helm on 1st. Mia Gullatta collected a single to left. Dustman´s doubled scoring Helm. Gullatta reached 3rd and would not advance any further as Desatnik struck out swinging.
In hopes of a comeback the Huskies were only able to plate a run. Lew took a walk and a wild pitch sent her to 2nd. With a runner in scoring postition Hansen went down swinging. Kelsi Collins was retired on a ground ball to Barnauskus as Lew found her way to 3rd. Dustman´s error allowed Lew to score as Grant reached 1st. Morgan Soltis would be the last out as Barnauskas threw her out to end the game. Crestwood was victorious 14-2.
Maggie Grant pitched a tough loss going 5 innings, allowed 14 hits, 8 runs, waling 3 and striking out 6.

The Huskies offense only mustered one hit by Morgan Soltis, but they were able to draw 5 walks.

The Red Devil offense was powerful scoring 14 runs and collecting 14 hits along the way. They were lead by Alyssa Hallis, Bella Hunter, Mia Gullatta and Maddy Dustman.
