Leopards Tandem of Siegfried and Aljancic Too Much for Warriors

West Branch's Cooper Anderson and Louisville's Kolton Loy go up for the game's opening tip-off.

Louisville, OH- The Louisville Leopards took a step back in time and rekindled some memories of the past as they welcomed former Northeastern Buckeye Conference foe West Branch to town Saturday night. Louisville also took a respite from what Head Coach Tom Siegfried rightfully called a "meat grinder" of a basketball schedule the Leopards are tasked with this season.

Their schedule has featured the likes of Westerville North and a 4 game Holiday Break Tournament in San Diego that featured some of the nation's top teams. Looking ahead they have Akron St. Vincent St. Mary, St. Ignatius and St. Edwards, along with some of the better programs in Stark County.

Beau Siegfried with 2 of his game high 30 at the 1st quarter buzzer.

As for tonight, it was Seniors Beau Siegfried and Tate Aljancic leading the way in the 79-56 victory. Siegfried led all scorers with 30, with Aljancic adding 20, half of which were scored in the game's opening 8 minutes. The Leopards play intense defense, often in the form of a full-court press, and move well without the ball on the offensive end. The Program is poised for a deep run this Spring, but know no game is too small to look past anyone.

For the Warriors, it too was a two-man show, with Senior Camden Lane pacing them with 26, including 4 triples in the 2nd quarter. Junior Jeremiah Thomas also scored in double figures with 17, with a 9-point 3rd quarter. Unfortunately for Coach Scott Loudon's squad, the Leopards brand of basketball takes that and a bunch more.

The win moves the Leopards to 8-4, a record that is skewed by their grueling schedule. The Warriors loss drops them to 4-8 on the year.
