Huntington Prep & Louisville take home wins at the Canton Play By Play Classic

CANTON, Ohio- The annual Play by Play Classic event was hosted at the Canton McKinley Fieldhouse. The tournament featured two high profile matchups. Huntington Prep vs Richmond Heights in game 1 and Louisville vs Lutheran East in the nightcap.


Huntington Prep - 66

Richmond Heights - 54


The day started off with Darryn Peterson's return to the 330. Peterson led Huntington Prep to a 66-54 win while scoring 26 points. The Huntington Preps defense was stout led by KiirKuany who was a walking highlight reel. Kuany sent multiple shots back into the stands and threw down multiple dunks in game one. Huntington Prep was producing highlight reel plays the entire game on their way to knocking off Richmond Heights.

Lutheran East - 65

Louisville - 77


In the nightcap Hayden Nigro scored 31 points and led Louisville to a 77-65 victory over Lue East. The Leopards dominated on all both of the court today. Louisville’s offense was on fire today. The Leopards started the game scoring 45 first half points, 20 from Nigro. The Leopards defense was also amazing today, holding Michigan State commit Jesse McCulloch to only four points in the first half. McCulloch would break free in the second half scoring 20 points, ending the night with 24 points.

Louisville has been one of those teams everyone underestimates. The Leopards once again today showed everyone who they are.


The Leopards have advanced to 19-2 on the season after today and Darryn Peterson has once again won in the 330.
