Gilmour dominates Warrensville Heights behind a five touchdown passing performance from Panteck

Warrensville Heights, Ohio- The Lancers came in hot after a 49-14 win over Valley Forge. The tigers came in looking to bounce back from their 24-12 loss to Marlington. Gilmour’s array of weapons offensively proved to be too much for Warrensville.

I got to speak with Head Coach for Gilmour Thomas Kaufman about the team's success so early in the season.

“Great leadership from the seniors, we’re clicking a lot," said Kaufman. "Cooper is doing a great job at quarterback.. We got eleven guys who are playing as one, it's fun.”

Gilmour came out and established the run game with CJ Santagata. Their efforts on the ground setup a 32 yard touchdown from Lars Broberg . Gilmour led 7-0 with 8:46 to go. The Lancers continued to put on an offensive clinic.

Sean Dillard caught a contested jump ball for a twelve yard touchdown. The Lancer offense got an 18 yard touchdown run from Nathan Lennon. They closed the quarter leading 27-0 after a 25 yard touchdown catch from Broberg.

Gilmour continued to dominate the first half. Outside of a big 40 yard reception from Brian Nichols the Tigers couldn’t do anything positive offensively.

The Lancers extended their lead through the air. Sean Dillard caught a 37 yard touchdown near the halfway mark of the period.  Aiden McNamara caught an eight yard touchdown to close out the half. The touchdown gave Panteck five first half touchdowns, Gilmour led 42-0 at halftime.

Panteck spoke briefly about his performance tonight.

“We saw a lot of man, and we loved our matchups on the outside so we took advantage of those. Our O-line did a great job of protecting tonight,” said Panteck.

The second half didn’t see Gilmour let up at all.  They scored one touchdown all half and stayed relentless on defense. That touchdown came from Lennon on a 35 yard yard run.

Warrensville had a positive drive in the fourth quarter. They got to the goal line but Gilmour held strong defensively to maintain their shut out performance.

The Lancers will be back in action Friday Sept. 6th on the road versus Hawken at 7 p.m.
