Field uses big scoring runs to take down Ravenna 73-37

RAVENNA, OH- It was a 5:00 tip early bird special on Friday night in Ravenna as the Lady Ravens hosted the Field Falcons. The original start time of 6:00 was moved up to accommodate the Ohio State football Cotton Bowl playoff semi-final matchup. The Falcons were coming off of a win at Independence while Ravenna was looking to snap a four game losing streak.


Janiyah Carter started the game off for the Ravens with a bucket before Field scored the next seven straight following a Delilah Rahe and-one conversion and a Maddie Jacobs bucket that put them up 7-2.

After another Carter basket, the Falcons went on a 12-0 run capped off by a Jacobs three ball giving them a 19-4 lead. They would take a 21-6 lead after one.


The 2nd quarter started off well for the Ravens as they scored the first seven points capped off by a Miriyah Sandifer score to cut the deficit to 21-13. The teams traded baskets the next few possessions before the Falcons offense exploded with a 14-0 run that included four straight three balls, three of which came from Jacobs.

That run opened up a 38-16 lead. From the start of the run they outscored the Ravens 20-4 to take a commanding 44-20 lead into halftime. Maddie Jacobs led the attack at the half for the Falcons with 16 points and four shots from deep.



Ravenna opened up the 3rd quarter with back to back buckets from Sandifer and Kam Clark cutting the deficit to 20.

Another big 12-0 Falcon run, six of which came from Abby Harlin, put them up 56-24 and began a running clock. The run ended with a Jacobs three, which tied the school record for three's in a game with six. Delilah Rahe finished the quarter scoring the final eight points including back to back three's to put the Falcons up 68-29 after three.

The Ravens outscored Field 8-5 in the 4th but the game was well beyond decided as the Falcons took home the 73-37 win.


Maddie Jacobs finished with 22 points and those record tying 6 three's. Delilah Rahe also scored 22 to go along with 14 rebounds. Miriyah Sandifer and Jalysia Thompson each scored 12 points to lead Ravenna.


Field looks to keep it going on Saturday as they travel to Mogadore while the Ravens will lok to bounce back on Tuesday at Norton.
