Doylestown Chippewa Chipps pull away from the Coventry Comets in a electrifying 54-47 win



Barberton, OH - The Doylestown Chippewa Chipps took on the Coventry Comets at Barberton High School in game 1 of the Greynolds Classic.


The Chipps got off to a hot start offensively and were able to get a good amount of scoring in the first quarter, putting up 16 points.


On the other hand, the Comets didn't gel as well in the first as they were only able to put up 9 points going down 16-9 entering the second.


To start the second no team scored for the first 3 minutes, as this quarter was a defensive battle all the way through.



However, Doylestown was able to find the basket a bit, putting up 11 points, and extending their lead.


Coventry was also able to finally put the ball in the basket scoring 8 points, but it wasn't enough to cut down their deficit as the Chipps lead going to halftime 27-17.


Entering the 2nd half the Comets were looking to close the gap in the score, putting up 14 points in the third.


The Chipps were only able to put up 8 points and allowed the Comets to get back in the game. The score entering the 4th was 35-31 in favor of Doylestown.


In the 4th, the Chipps got back into their rhythm putting up a whopping 19 points and not taking their foot off the gas until the final seconds.



Coventry was able to keep fighting, but in the end came up short losing the game 54-47.


The player of the game for the Chipps was forward Ethan Douglas who put up 14 points and was a key player all game long.


The player of the game for the Comets was guard Malachi Austin who was a key part in their comeback putting up 14 points with 10 of them coming in the second half.
