Alliance, OH- It was Rivalry night inside Harry Fails Gymnasium at Alliance High School as the Alliance Aviators welcomed down the road rival Marlington for a Friday night bout. Alliance entered in a tie with Carrollton atop the Eastern Buckeye Conference at 3-1, while the Dukes entered 1 game behind at 2-2.

The outside temperatures may have been cold, but the Aviators came out red hot, with Junior Guard JR Jackson depositing 10 in the opening quarter and fellow Junior Bralyn Spears filling up two triples. For the Dukes, it was Sophomore Guard Cameron Evanich keeping the Dukes in it with 7.

The Aviators expanded their 20-13 lead after one by 1 in a tightly contested 2nd quarter. It was Senior Henry Scheible coming off the bench to lead the Aviator offense for the quarter, scoring 6 while playing high intensity defense on the other end. Parker Woods had 8 in the quarter to pace the Dukes as the score board read 32-24 at the midway point.

It was after the break that the Aviators attack took a balanced turn. Junior Cole Pasco had 6 in the frame while fellow forward Sophomore Sam Hays had 5, including a sweet southpaw stroke from beyond the arc. The Aviators defense continued to stymie the Dukes, as they held the visitors to only 7 in the quarter.
